Things I've Discovered

Tomorrow Damon is coming home and we couldn't be more excited. Bailee has had the most difficult time without him here. She really doesn't see him that much other than weekends so I was surprised at how sad she's been. I tried to make today fun for her, but she still kept talking about her daddy. She's saved her allowance and $ from the tooth fairy for a long time, so we went to Target and she bought a couple toys. Once we came home we watched Madagascar and ate lunch together then went to the theatre to watch Madagascar 2. Trey hasn't been to the movies since he was a newborn and I was nervous cause he is usually so naughty anytime he has to sit down. I kept him buckled in the stroller, made sure he had a nap beforehand, and kept him fully stocked with popcorn and treats. I'm sure people were annoyed with the stroller, but I didn't care. It actually worked and we all enjoyed the movie. Well, he started freaking out at the end of the movie, but was happy once I let him play with my phone. I actually might try this again soon! Wow...being able to go out to a movie as a family...might be something we can start doing again.

Here's some things I've discovered this past week while Damon has been gone:
---The bed is at least 10 degrees colder.
---I really must not move much while I sleep cause the bed hardly lookes slept in when I wake up.
---Sleeping in on the weekend is no fun when you wake up alone.
---The bathroom somehow stays spotless when I'm the only one using it.
---It is not nearly as fun making fun of the crazies on American Idol without Damon.
---Damon knows how I like my Cafe Rio salad better than I do. Somehow I didn't get it right.
---No tv show is as funny when you laugh alone.
---Our little girl and boy just can't live without their daddy.
---I still stand by my decision to be with Damon forever.

So excited to have you home tomorrow, honey! I've missed you. Love you so much!
Yesterday Mari (my sis) and I and the kids decided to hang out at the house and be lazy. Painting our toenails and waxing our eyebrows was part of the plan, but once the kids were asleep we decided that getting up out of the lounge chairs would be just too darn hard. It was nice hanging out cause we don't get to that much. Love ya, sis!

After we put the boys to bed, us girls stayed up and watched a couple American Idol epidodes I had recorded. Bailee drew this picture of me auditioning for American Idol. The 4 little heads under me are the judges. Such a cute pic. However, I would never in a million years audition.....sorry Bailee.
Need I say more.

The kids eating pizza and watching Hercules.

Hooray for bedtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Beautiful Barstools

I didn't make a new post last night because I got home pretty late and was exhausted. I tried to stay awake to watch the weather forecast, but the last thing I remember is the St George 7 day. So close!
Bailee is having a field trip to the Bean Museum today. She's been so excited because she was told it was at BYU and she thought it meant she was going to a football game. After I explained it to her she wasn't disapointed, thank goodness. Their class has earned a snow and treat day by having good behavior over a long period of time. So, they're doing that after they get back from the musem. All the kids got to bring their snow clothes to school, then after playing in the snow, go inside for hot chocolate and cookies. She has been sooo excited about this activity! She's probably having her post-snow treat right now. On Tuesday, for the 100th day of school, the students had to write a sentence about what they would do if they were given $100. Bailee wrote that she would buy me some snow pants. Very sweet. I doubt most kids would want to spend their $100 on their mom.
Trey had a really hard time dropping off Bailee at school again yesterday. He was yelling things at me I didn't understand at all, and then threw his cracker at me. Today he was still upset but better.

I went online to order my new barstools yesterday and the 15% discount had been discontinued that I saw last week. I was bummed but figured there was no point in ordering it if I don't get the discount when I can just pick them up at Target. I wish I could've saved money, but it was nice having them right away. They look be-u-tiful, not to mention how perfect they go with our modern house. Ok, so nobody really cares as much as I do, but whatever, right?!

Missing Damon!

So, here I am chillin with the computer once again. Trying to stay warm and trying to not think about how Damon is enjoying the 80 degree sun in Florida. All I can say is.....he better bring me home a dang good present. I'm suffering here in freezing Utah!

Well, Damon, here are some things you missed out on today:

---Trey learned 2 new words. First, he asked me for more "broccee" during dinner. Second, after I dropped a big glob of desitin on the carpet and said "suck!" he quickly and loudly repeated me. "SUCK!" Whoops!
---Today was the the first time Trey and I have dropped off Bailee at school. When we drove up into the school parking lot he starting crying. It continued for a while at home too. "Nooooooooo! Beeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"
---I finished the D&C today.
---Sadly, I can't think of anything else interesting that happened today. Just normal chasing the kids around and trying to keep up with things stuff. Lame, I know. Hope you've had fun today. We love you!
Here's our game again. "Guess What I'm Watching While I Blog?" Btw, the saddest thing about this pic is that this was a Salt Lake City audition.

Getting ready for bed.

Bailee wrote a note to you about her day at school. TRANSLATION:

"The 100 day of school!
We had so much fun on the 100 day of school. We got to give candy to other classes then got to eat them right away but not all of them. Then we got to go back to school!"

.........so you all know.

Damon left for a business trip this morning. He's in Florida at the PGA show and I'm sure loving the warm weather. (Jerk!) I'm sure he's missing us so much it must be unbearable for him. Wouldn't you agree? To ease his suffering I'll be making new posts several times this week. If this is terribly boring to everyone else, I apologize. I'm sure I'll be back to my normal once-a-week-at-the-most posting once he's home.
So, Damon, have a great time and don't lose you wedding ring. Oh wait...too late. You did that at the last PGA show. :) Just giving you a hard time.
Love you!
BTW, Bailee said in her prayers tonight, "please help that dad will have a great adventure and that Zane will be at school tomorrow." (She's been talking alot about Zane lately.) So cute!

What Damon has missed today

Here a game for you called "Guess What I'm Watching While I Blog?"

Bailee drew this picture before she went to bed just for her daddy to see tonight. It's me, her, and Trey having a picnic outside by the swingset under the sun. The picture is absolutely adorable, but I think Bailee is seriously confused about WHAT SEASON IT IS!

Oh my gosh! What drama today! Bailee started her new tumbling class at All American Gymnastics and screamed out of control. There were a bunch of sweet cute girls in her class trying to comfort her and be her friends but Bailee would not be calmed. Once class started she was fine and was once again my happy little girl. Come to find out, Bailee was scared because the PE teacher at her school yells at the kids and Bailee was terrified that her new tumbling teacher would yell at her. Sad, but like I said...what drama! It was exhausting!

Bailee wanted to show you her school work. So cute!

Night night dad!

So, I was bummed this morning when Damon left and I had crazy morning hair and no makeup. Don't even try to imagine the sight. It's not pretty. Horrible last image of me for Damon to be thinking of this week. So, Damon, here's me with makeup on and a quick "fix" for the hair. Oh yeah, and a super not-so-cute cold sore. Anyways, I miss you and hope you have fun! Love ya!

Let it Snow!

Let it snow, let it snow let it snow!
Then snow, then snow, then snow, then snow, then snow, then snow, then snow, then snow, and then snow some more. Oh yeah, and then more!
We got sooooo much snow over the holidays! As long as your not driving in it...what a blast!
When Damon pulled me behind the 4 wheeler (I have no snow pants I might add) he took it way too fast and sent me flying into the curb. Ouch! I had a nice bruise on my backside, not to mention way too much snow down the back of my pants. However, I can't pretend that a picture of me flying through the air wouldn't be hilarious!

We have so much snow piled up in front of our sidewalk! Bailee and Trey and a couple of their friends were so cute sliding up and down for so long. Soon to be followed by Trey sliding down in the window well, getting stuck, and loving every second of it.

Trey's Birthday!

Happy birthday Trey man!
Trey did something sooooo terrible to me on Thursday.........he turned 2!
Can you believe my baby boy is growing up so fast? He has brought so much joy to our little family and I can't imagine life without him. Here's just a few of the ADORABLE things I love so much about him that makes him my unique little Trey myster:
*His 3 favorite things are Spongebob "Bob bob," basketball "bagetball," and cars "cart" or "carcar."
*His perfect blonde curls. He LOVES to get his hair done. He'll sit on the counter with his gel and yell, "moooooommm! Haaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrr!" This happenes several times a day.
*How happy he gets when he holds a blanket "gankey" up to his face. It's a comfort he has that is so sweet.
*How he imitates his dad. He'll sit on the stool at Damon's basketball arcade game and yell at it while he pretends to play. Luckily Damon watches his language!
*His love and adoration for his big sister. Sure, he loves to torment her at times, but overall, he is very sweet to her. He'll hug her tight and say "ahhhhhhh." Throughout the day while Bailee is at school he'll ask, "where Bee go?" Or "I want Bee." If we're at the store and he sees something she likes he'll grab it and run back to me screaming, "Bee! Bee! Bee!" The things he finds are very specific to what she likes, like princesses, Dora, or anything pink. So cute!
*He tells me thank you for everything. "Gank oo, mommy."
*He has some OCD tendencies that can get on my nerves somethimese but are also sometimes very cute. His hands CANNOT be dirty or wet. The worst is when his fingers are wrinkled after his bath. He just can't take it. He also likes things organized by color, has to have things facing forward, and knows where certain things go and doesn't like it changed. I just don't get how someone like that can still make such huge messes! However, he is very obediant once I tell him it's cleanup time.
Ok, I'll stop now since I know these things aren't as exciting to others as they are to me.
Happy birthday, buddy!
Trey had a little sports party. Between Christmas and his birthday I'm gonna have to totally reorganize his room to find space for all his new stuff. He got a Cars semi that turns into 3 roads, a Cars rug, Harly Davidson scooter, clothes, and car stunt track from us and party guests. But his #1 favorite toy is his $5 basketball hoop from Bailee. I had the kitchen decorated all cute with sports stuff. I hung a banner with pictures of balls on it and Trey FLIPPED OUT with excitement. We had to leave for a minute to pick up dinner and Trey waved at the banner and said "bye-bye bagetball, bye-bye bagetball." I haven't taken it down yet but I think tomorrow might be the dreaded day. Hopefully he'll be alright.

We had a little party on Sunday at grandma and grandpa Argyle's house. Grandma and grandpa gave him a laptop, and he got a leapfrog phonics game and Spongebob baseball bat from the cousins.

I made peppermint brownies...Trey's favorite.

Holiday Season 2008

Ok, I know this post is really long, but I got behind over the holidays. It was a busy season, but really fun. I hope everyone had as good of a holiday as we did. Damon took alot of time off and it was so much fun taking things a little bit slower than normal and just being together all day. This year we decided to stay home all day on Christmas. Just the 4 of us. It was snowing nonstop all day and it was nice to enjoy the beauty of it without having to drive in it. I made a fancy Christmas breakfast and dinner which I love to do. Also, a highlight of the day was talking to my baby bro who is on his mission in Houston. I am so proud of him and miss him so much. It was difficult narrowing the pictures down for the blog, and it's hard to really express how much I loved Christmas without boring everyone to death. I tried extra hard this year to focus on the Savior and His birth and what really means the most this time of year. I love being a mom and experiencing all that comes with it. Eating up all the joy that I see in my kids faces. Nothing can beat it.
Happy new year!!!

New Christmas outfits.

Each year we have a Garretson Christmas party. We went to dinner at Golden Corral, listened to the kids sing songs, and just enjoyed being together. My brother-in-law, Isaac, made this picture of my grandpa and nephew out of glass. Very impressive!
I have been blessed so much in my life to have the grandparents that I have. They are the most selfless people I know. Everything that I strive to be I can find in them. The love they share is so strong and they're not afraid to let anyone know it! They are affectionate towards each other and show the utmost respect for each other. When I talk to them I know that everything they say to me and everything they feel comes straight from the love they have for me. Does that make sense? Nothing is selfish about them. If I live my life half as good as they have I can say that I've done well.

This is a sweet picture of Bailee looking at the nativity I keep under one of our trees.

For family home evening at the start ot the Christmas season we wanted to give a gift to Jesus. We thought that if Jesus asked for anything for Christmas He would ask for us to give service. So we wrapped a box and put a hole in the top. Each time we did an out of the ordinary act of service we would make a heart and put it in the box. We made some phone calls and found those who were in need of a little extra cheer. We made goodies, did secret things for each other, and other service activities all throughout the season. On Christmas Eve we put the gift under the tree and then on Christmas morning we opened it. Although it doesn't look like it in the picture, there were alot of hearts. I definately want to make this a tradition. Happy birthday, Jesus!

Bailee and I rockin out. Santa brought her a karaoke machine.

Santa went a little over budget to get this FJ Cruiser power wheels for Trey. Totally worth it! We had to move it over by the Christmas tree to open the rest of the gifts because he wouldn't get out. He just wanted to drive his "cart".

Mine and Damon's gift to Bailee was a whole new bedroom. I took alot of clients over the Christmas season and I've saved for several months to make this room perfect for her. She is such a princess and loves anything that's over-the-top girly. Which is totally a blast for me. Like mother like daughter. Bailee slept in Trey's room the whole week of Christmas so I could put it together. I'll have to do a post later just on this project and all the stories behind everything I did. Her reaction made all the work worth it. Just before the room was done I had $15o left to spend on the finishing touches and accessories. While I was doing some shopping my purse must've fallen off my arm because it was later found in the parking lot and the cash had been stolen. I was devistated but everything worked out. I'm just so grateful that only the cash was taken and nothing else.
Love you Bailee!

My friend Amanda and her mom, Vyki, came over on Christmas to bring us gifts. My kids have adopted Vyki as their "grandma Vyki". We definately consider their family as ours. Love you guys!

We spent Christmas Eve at Damon's parents house. We spent the evening opening gifts from grandma and papa and cousins, eating, singing Christmas songs, watching a 2008 slideshow (thanks to Danielle), singing happy birthday to Jesus and having birthday cake, etc. After we got home we sprinkled oats and green sugar on the snow for Santa's reindeer. Christmas morning we woke up to alot of animal footprints in the snow. If it wasn't the reindeer, then there must've been a very happy animal outside.

Christmas pj's and slippers!!! Trey was so excited about his "Bob Bob" slippers. He still won't go to bed without them on.

A little too late Christmas Eve. Trey was definately ready to go to bed and let Santa get to work.

Bailee singing Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer with her school class.
